St Aldhelms Barn in the village of Chapel Amble is a self catering, 4 star listed holiday accomadation, four miles from the bustling town of Wadebridge, and can sleep up to 6 people and is situated in a very pretty and quiet lane, with views over farmland and is perfect for a relaxing holiday. We are only 200yds from village amenities, yet only 10 minutes from the beaches. In the summer evenings you could watch a Barn Owl patrol the local fields.
The local pub, “The Maltsters Arms” , which provides a range of food and beers is just around the corner. The village also has a Post Office & shop, all within a conservation area.
The village is easily accessible and less than 2 miles off the A39 Bude to Wadebridge road and central to many of the local attractions.
Wadebridge is 4 miles away and has a good choice of shops including a Co-op, Lidl, and a Tesco, several good butchers and bakers. In the town there are Indian and Chinese restaurants, bistros and pubs. A 2 screen cinema, and sports centre with indoor swimming pool all add to this towns attraction.
The fishing port of Padstow, famous for its ‘obby ‘oss and May Day celebrations, is only 20 minutes away by car, even less if you take the ferry from Rock, the historic and picturesque Port Isaac (Doc Martin’s Port Wenn), and home to “The Fishermans Friends” is only 10 minutes drive, with the safe and sandy beaches of Polzeath, Rock and the stunning Daymer Bay also only a 10 minute drive away. The area offers plenty of opportunities for sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, surfing, pony trekking, walking, golf, and cycling on the Camel trail. The Camel Estuary is in easy reach for bird watching and it’s wild fowl sanctuary. The Eden Project is well worth a visit and is only a 20 mile drive away. The nearby coastal footpath is breath taking and Bodmin Moor & Bodmin Steam Railway is waiting for you to explore some 8 miles away.
